Astral heat EX Theme Options Screen Design/Import

Job summary:
Design & Import completely new Astral Heat EX Theme options Screen/Font system as per discussed with client.
Client is happy for designer to generate the theme/style based on existing Astral Heat Aesthetic/design as per discussed.
Remove existing Legacy theme & replace with High quality HD 32bit Png sprites/animation as discussed.

Workload:
- Basic Options screen design/stylesheet/concept (min 2.5hour@18/hr)
- Animations/texture generation & PNG image conversion (min 1.5hour@18/hr)
- system.def & .AIR format Coding & png-to-.sff compiling/testing (min 1 hours@18/hr)

Project Part 03
Astral Heat EX VS Screen design & System creation/Import

Job summary:
Design & Import completely new Astral Heat EX Theme VS Screen/Font system as per discussed with client.

Client requires VS Screen Portrait system to support default Mugen Character VS Screen portraits.

Client does not require the original CreepyTarantino custom portrait PSD system.

- Character vs portrait size & spacing calculation/PSD/AE template generation (min 1hours@18/hr)

Just a small update

I am currently building the options screen for part 002 in external software.
I will have some progress images later today

Here is some small progress images of what is currently being designed.
Please do not pay too much attn to the desogn for now because it is still a work in progress.
But I wanted to explain the system I am creating for options menu.
In the Mugen .cfg file there are many settings that do not appear in the Mugen options screen.
There will be an information animation box on the options screen that will deisplay some extra information about some other settings in the mugen.cfg file that the user can change.
It will also explain what they do.

It is slowly taking form.
There is still lots to do but fpr now, I am making it so the original Creepytarantino theme is consistent.
He wanted hexagon shapes to me a main theme of the screenpack.
Then Phantom D created some space themed textures that I was able to reuse in the menu screen.
I will keep that same space/hexagon style here aswell.
I am creating a border frame system

I have created animations and done a part of the coding now for the options menu.
Everything on this screen is animated.
The borders move from the top of the screen infinitely at different speeds for the 2 layers.
The Backgoround also uses some space gapaxy effects similar to the main menu screen so it feels like the same theme.
It will also have the same system of pictures of various fighting game characters appearing exactly the same as the menu screen but different speeds.

Next I need to create a system for the text boxes to zoom into the screen.

I have started adding another transition animation system to the scrolling borders.
Originally CreepyTarantinos screenpack was to be inspired by the artwork and styles of games by Capcom and Arc System works (blazblue).
So the Options screen will have additional art inspired by those classic game franchise.

There will be coded and edited to make this type of transition effect on the borders that move

If you look closely you will see these characters appear in the borders at certain times

This is getting exciting! Loving all the awesome effects and styles going on here!
Its amazing how quick you guys updated this project!

it's really impressive the way it has evolved, I like the idea of the edges that scroll with the character inlays all with pretty effects, I find it well thought out and very pretty.

This seriously looks like an actual Game and not an original design.
Have you ever considered professional industry work?
You could probably design interfaces for software and video games judging by what you've done here (assuming you already dont?)

I appreciate your generous feedback.
Mainly my intention was to recreatre what was described to me by the original client, I just combine his ideas with my knowledge of video games
and try to create something that looks real, and not just homemade mugen game. I think I am confident to say that we achieved this goal in this case.
I have done some professional design work in real life, yes. But I have not designed interfaces for any software before.

I think we managed to achieve the consistency in the design, yes you are quite right.
I am now also working on the VS screen, and I have made several hours progress.
I wanted to use the VS screen, as an extra chance to also advertise the game Logo in some way, so it feel more like a real arcade game.
Here are some progress images of the VS screen.
Also some of the designs I am using and animations, is inspired by Arc System Works. This was the original vision of CreepyTarantino, so i will honor his original ideas for this theme.

There is still much work to do here, but I have made very good progress on this screen, and as you can see, I have already updated the portrait system and the portrait scale coding fo it will work no problem with the default character portrait settings.

I made quite a lot of progress today working on the VS screen system.
I have updated all of the animations, and I have reworked some of the timings.
I added a loading screen similar to what was in Street Fighter Zero 3 Playstation version.
This is because CreepyTarantino originally was a fan of the Street Fighter III and Street Fighter Zero 3 games, and those games had some loading screen after the VS screen.
Also it is good for when playing the game and using large stages or files because there may be a loading time depending on the graphics card.

I also made some updates to the animation and code for the timing for the logo on the VS screen.

When the VS screen ends, there will be a loading screen that will be like a door that closes on top of the vs portrait screen. I wanted to keep the space and hexagon theme of AHEX, so it is like a spaceship door.

Next I have to work on the small details for the portrait screen, and after that I will work on the sound file for this screen

It looks cool, like a real modern game.
I think it's perfect.

Bro, this is becoming a masterpiece it kicks ass!
I definitely prefer the custom HD portraits in the original version better,
but thats beside the point - the VS and options menus are killing it bro. I cant wait to test this out!

I am getting very close to completing parts 02 and 03 of this project.
I am just adding the final details and finishing touches in place.
I should have the progress video to show these 2 systems very soon.

I also like IIDX and Metal Gear, so I understand that.
I am so lucky to have the same taste as the creators.

Thanks for that feedback man, I was going to add extra things regardless but the white is probably the best subtle option not to overdo the coloring i already have.
I added extra animations based on that feedback so its like a spaceship cockpit
