We back into this for the 2k23!
I hope you all had a great break and time away to spend with familty and friends, off the internet and not stuck in front of screens, tablets and PCs, enjoying the finer things in life such as woman, liquor and everything in between lol!
I have been away in the mountainz in real life for the past few weeks lol! Partying like its 1999 lol
Well now that I am back on deck, and back at work, on the ratrace like the rest of us lol, its back to our normal weekly schedule of daily updates lol!
Back to the mountains from exactly where we left off!
We back into this for the 2k23!

BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WE ARE BACK 4 THE 2K23, AND ITS.......Testing time
I have finally finished implementing all the coding.
I ran into a serious issue with his command system due to his pre existing movesets.
But i found a fix!
Unlike POTs characters, his charge command will use R1 and R2 (if you use a controller)
or HP and HK buttons (C and Z). Now lets test!
Im happy with that! As you can see the attacks are working fine aswell lol.
Our next mega mission, is creating his custom projectile!
Now back to the mountains!

And now to move on to the projectile phase!
Now this is something interesting that I have put extra thought into.
As you may know, this monk characters base sprites asre based off the character Houoh

Houoh (ホウオウ) in Japanese, means Phoenix, and in Pokemon gold, the legendary pokemon that Ash Ketchum first ever saw in the first episode of pokemon mysteriously flying past, was the legendary pokemon Ho-oh lol

And to add to this, in lucas9999s edit of the character, he was able to use a blue bird projectile however this sprite had very low res sprites. So I thought what better projectile for the monk formerly known as Houoh, than a fireball inspired by Houoh!
So I have begun making a 100% original custom fireball based on this design using sprites of the Ho-oh but with my own style of course:

Then of course we need to make the explosive sprites for when he collides with the enemy, so back to the mountains!

I can't wait to see what else is in store, my only suggestion is, however, is it possible to have some smoke or blowback on him from when he does the ho-oh ken like in marvel vs series games?

Well you know what I always say, there's ALWAYS room for improvement, so watch this space!
that's definitely a small detail I can look into upgrading, but first let me finish off todays showcase, the holy barrier attack update!
Now let's check out his updated attack in action!
Now thats working just fine, but there is one huge issue that we have to address next,
and that is updating his Superpause BG FX and front super sparkFX!
At the moment, he does not have the iconic Super BG or fron fx like the other characters in our roster,
so we have to create and code this animation system into him!
Because he was not originally a "POTS" style character, we have to manually code this entire super pause system in.
Back to the drawing board, we have some work to do!

I like the animation, adds the depth to his style. I understand, you have to manually add the code. So he will be pots unstoppable.lol I have this animation in mind, just food for thought. It would be for him, only doe. I was thinking of the glow effect. Like Jiren from Dragonball z super, when he was meditating, in a cave. I will post a pic. Also, maybe a Sunray like animation, where he is absorbing the energy around him. I will post them pics of what, I'm trying to say. Back to the mountains.

The second animation is what you have posted, just recently of the super big. Just slowed but, moving in reverse as if he is absorbing his chakra around him.lol Like a backwards burst, type animation. Also, it would be scaled down to his stature build. Not to over the top. Just thinking in the mind set of a monk warrior, about to wreck all kind of havoc. Just with a gentle approach, but with overwhelming power.lol Hope I'm making some type of sense.lol

As you will probably know by now, the Aura is the absolute last thing we add, so we have plenty of time to brainstorm that part for sure.

Yes, I believe this could work. It would be his own custom charge. I think this could work for the feature fighters you have included. They would be standouts to any other character added. Outside what we add as our own personal roster. The Aura along with the fx for the super fx. But have the super fx moving backwards like inwards. He is absorbing the key backwards. I hope, I'm making sense of what I'm trying to explain. Let me know.

Yup yup that totally makes sense.
What you are basically saying is, to have the Di Kong Monk aura be moving inwards like this as if draining energy from the atmosphere lol.
I gotchu.
The only thing I can see straight away with this that may be tricky, is that Mugen as you know, has a problem with how the state-2 def auras react to character movement.
For example, the closest existing thing to this in a mugen character would be the aura used by a character called Legend Gold Metal Orochi:
As you can see, he has a n aura that eminates from his actual neutral standing stance that is basically what you are describing but not in reverse.
As you can see, everytime his stance changes however, it dissappears, which is the only dumb thing.
But it does gove me some ideas on some other ways we could make the energy absorbing thing work, and its definitely a great concept!
I will continue to do some brainstorming on how we can achieve something like this....thank you sire, and now back to the mountains!

I wanted to go above and beyond for this one, so I will be using actual animated footage of
our monk character waking up from meditation stance at the split second of the super happening:

Now that the animations done (and this one took me about 2 hours lol) we can code it in using the same template code we wrote for Guy and Hiryu and see it all in action!
Back to da mountains!
