Im actually impressed by the fact thats MS pain your using instead of a spriter program.
Do you use graphic gale aswell for spriting too? i remember that was the main go to for spriters back when i used to kinda follow a few

I only used GIMP once to rotate one of the R-Type 3 orbs cause it looks like Uranus or Neptune's planet projectile. It's a very cool feature something I wish MS Paint has. This was a decade ago and it's in my old laptop that for some reason refused to connect to the internet.

How I started at the beginning is using the frankensprite method. But it's very limiting and you want something more than just a frankensprite. I started to branch out once I learned patterns using the Sailor Moon R sprites to convert to arcade style. What got me to get better at spriting was getting out of my comfort zone. It was my sprite conversion of Moon with the 3D0 sprites. I couldn't find the image though but I had to use Cammy's leg cause it looked off. I had to learn how to shrink her leg to tailor fit Moon's.

As you can see in this image above I use a lot of frankenspriting. Nowadays I just paint over the image. I still frankensprite but only if a certain move or pose is a bit difficult.

Since she doesn't have an official name I'll be calling her DD Girl Jennie.  
I got the idea when there was a time in 2018 or 2019 these Kpop Youtubers where trying to make Jennie the villain in Kpop history. It was funny as hell.


In fact I'll name all the other DD Girls from other Kpop girl groups.

Declined. I'm focused on my own projects which include Openbor, Mugen, IKEMEN and Unity and it will take 4 to 6 years to finished.


I can't say for what other artists are experiencing but I suffer from dysthymia and don't enjoy playing video games as much as I used to. Using my depression as a way to do something productive but there are days I need to get away from spriting. Also I do not like being micromanaged.

I can tell you in my experience in the mugen commission i do that it is waste of time try to find spriter professional for commission work in mugen community. I did many big project and I offer spriter chance to make over 2400 dollars one job 2 month work and 1800 dollars 6 week work but they donot want it because to focus they personal hobby project. So i understand how they think.
Better to look at graphics and design community and designer that is not part of mugen community for commission things.
The difference of spriter professional and mugen community spriter is that the mind set of most mugen community spriter is like just part time hobby and like video gamer type of mindset - they are not skilled in business deal with customer and have deadline and professional way of thinking plus most the mugen community spriter is too focus on personal passion work not think about make money from hobby.
If you look for spriter for real pay work I can introduce

A simple back jump frame. Nothing special but necessary.
