This is such a neat idea, i approve!
I really love how mugen lets you create full stages from anything providing the resources exist somewhere.
Do you do your own sprite ripping?
What methods do you use to extract as I have alwys been curious how to get old game sprites.
I heard many people use nebula emulator to do it.
I prefer to rip my own than use ones ripped by others which could have colorloss if that makes sense?

I rip sprites when I need to. For most of my stages yes, they are usually ripped by me. For the characters I tend to use sheets to save time. The programs I use most for ripping are WinKwaks, MAME and Nebula. Nebula has the best shot factory settings so it's easier to get all the sprites even if they run off screen. I agree with you that if you can rip the sprites yourself then that's the best way.
