Just curious if anyone has fully abandoned teh Mugens to use this new Ikemen Go.
I am interested but I keep hearing that it has alot of teething issues still and that it isnt supporting all of Mugen features yet.
What is the deal

I wanted to try on version 0.97 but i stopped and decided to wait.
There isnt much cool resources for it at the moment and also I want to learn and observe from others who know it better for they opinion is it time we can replace mugen or not

i test every new version they release but they are nowhere near ready for a full conversion from 1.1 in my opinion just yet.

The appeal to use Ikemen Go in its current form is not there for myself and most the gfx bros ive spoken to, which is why there isnt much aesthetically dope shit out for it yet and probably wont be for a while besides the odd SP here and there.

If you are a casual mugen user or a mugen 1.0 user that never learned 1.1 properly and just want a Mugen 1.0 experience with new toys to play with like attachedchar for stages and various tweaks like 3v3 tag etc, then by all means go ahead and dive in.

But if you care more about fully transitioning to a new engine with flawless back compatibility to Mugen 1.1s basic features, then I wouldn't bother yet until that is the case because there are still many things getting ironed out

I haven't seen anything interesting created for it yet to make me want to move from Mugen 1.1.
Also everyone tells me they still missing Mugen 1.1 cfg options for resolution and stage floors have bugs.
Im not so interested in new features yet until they fix the older problems.

Me too.
I am a fan of the add004 slow moving camera with my HD wide zoom stages, and also tag mode.
I would only change to Ikemen if it supports all Mugen 1.1 content and all features.
I also use the alternate resolution feature that Phantom has mentioned before so I will definitely need that if I am going to change engines.
FOr now Mugen 1.1 is more than enough for me until a pure 100% upgrade is available

2023 and I'm chiming in to see if anyone has made the leap yet?
I actually have gone back to Mugen 1.1 most recently, but I will probably jump back on to Ikemen after the next release to see what has changed.

nope.
I tried the new build. Its nice. it has lots of features.
But it still had a few things missing so i guess thats why its RC99.
Do you think it will ever replace mugen 1.1 100%?
D mentioned there is still that stage bug and since i get most my stages from here its a problem if they wont work like they do in mugen even if its only little things like the floor and camera

It will surpass Mugen 1.1 it is only a matter of time it will have all the features and since its open source the Ikemen engine still has a lot of possibility to grow into greater heights. I am still suprised that Mugen engine only works for Windows OS and didn't make a Linux version unless you have wine application installed which can run some Windows programs. At least when it came to Ikemen engine the Developers thought about the engine working on any OS.

If they add support video playback like mp4 or MOV and avi format, its a game changer.
But they really need to fix the cfg so its got all the mugen features in it for window mode

I think that it is common knowledge among the mugen community regarding it being open source and having a github for bug reporting.

Also i noticed that those 2 bugs were already mentioned in the 2 previous builds to the main devs and one of the main 2 devs is a member here and has responded they are looking for a fix for them both but that was late last year so its uncertain if it is prioritized or still under way:

I learned my lesson with Mugen 1.1 when it first came out..
Sometimes its best to wait. let the engine breath.
Let all the bugs iron out.
let all the code junkies and bug testers get geeky intricate on the shit stress testing it.
Then wait and let a whole swarm of mid-range creators make a whole load of average creations for it.
Then eventually we will get a breakthrough template to heavily modify and use as a base like EVE or Legacy and how warzone was for most people 10 years ago if you get my drift.
lots can happen in a year and it can only improve closer to mugen 1.1

Inputs and stage compatibility needs improving, but if it's for creating or migrating add-ons then you'll have a fun time with the engine.
Any screenpack would have its best version on IKEMEN.

While I agree stage fit is necessary, the real problem with stages is that delta and zoom calculations aren't quite there yet. If one knows how to code stages properly for widescreen they will work fine, mostly.

I had this same problem.
The resolution scaling thing i thought would have been the first thing they added when they built it.
It almost feels, like they based ot off mygen 1.0 too much and not 1.1.
And the problem with that is most of the old forums for mugen are full of people that never learned how to use 1.1 even properly.
So now there is this weird sort of void filled with old 1.0 players that are running towards it, and 1.1 users that dont see any appeal because some core fundamental things is missing.
I will stick to my 1.1 for now but lets see how the future plays out. it has potential and so does some of the other mugen clones i saw
