Nice WIPs you got here! I'm a 'stage guy' so here's my feedback.

Crimson Recompense
- zoffset is too low/Characters' feet are too low. Try raising them by about 15-25 pixels.
- I'm not really liking the brush stroke texture of the white tree but that's just me.
- So there will be fog? Hope there will be more animations!
- Maybe adding a sub trans layer in front of the stage, making the stage look darker, might make it look better? I think it will.

Pillars of Earth
- So much colorloss bro.
- Characters' feet are too low.
- Duuude, i'm seeing the Artist's signature below M. Bison.
- Separating/Rendering the buildings from the main BG might make it look better.
- (I'm imagining this right now) Adding rain to the stage could be a nice touch.

Both of these stages look very promising. I'd like to see what you do to these, I'll also be a beta tester for the stages later on when you've got more completed with them.

@Markpachi: It's not completely canceled but more "put off till later" I guess. Did you want to do it?

Yo dbdrumer7, bro the experimenting for the glowing animations are going very well. I'll make 8 images for the animation so it looks real smooth :D Don't expect it too soon though :P

We're making some good progress. This stage should be done within February if we keep a good pace. Now that we have mark helping, the coding should be done quite a bit faster with his experience (compared to ours lol).

I just need to make them glowing sprites and then dbdrummer7 and Mark will code them into the stage. At that point I'll send you, grayfox, C.A.N, and possibly Dissidia (if I get to asking him to to beta test) to test the stage.

Sounds good. I'll be ready to test whenever. I didn't know C.A.N knew stages, I might've sent him some of my stuff. Anyways, take your time and make sure everything's good, we'll be here to help.

I'll give your way of making the sprite a go but should I use the RGB method to it when I'm done? I see you did that on your Resting Place stage.

The RGB method is one of the ways you can use. Not all sprites HAVE to be RGB'd though. I personally prefer jigsawing or just using 0 color on an indexed sprite regularly. This is mostly because I dislike the white flash displayed by supers in stages from the RGB method.

No, you don't. Generally it's for the main part of the stage. When you're using your main image, there's 3 usable methods:

RGB Method
Imagesplitter
Jigsawing.


As I said before, the RGB method has some flaws mostly the white flash when characters use alpha ctrls.

When i first started I used imagesplitter, I did not like it much at all. It has potential to shoot out many layers uncropped. It can cause framerate to drop a huge amount and the quality never turned out so good for me.

Jigsawing is usually the best way in my eyes. It's pretty darn certain to avoid color loss, the only downfall is it can be quite tedious. There's a tutorial on this in the Tips, Tricks and Tutorials section.

But remember, like i said above, you don't have to use this method on every single sprite.

Hey GLB, I was wondering if you know any way to loop sprite positions other than through BG Controllers? I'll have to learrn about them eventually and Tamez's tutorial will probably clear everything up, but if there is a simpler way I'd like to learn it first! :D

Okay well this is kinda annoying...

I'm done with the glowing sprite made with Mark's advice. The only problem is that it doesn't fully index the green. I can fix the little green spots but do you guys know how to get rid of them in one go to speed up the sprite making process?
