Just a thought,

But here's a tip. If you turn a single sprite into an animation, (For reference like I did in Danger Ahead Stage on the floor, or even my Welcome Home stage on the mountains.) It creates a flicker/flare effect. Maybe you could try that for the character renders on the title screen and see how it turns out, you could create some sort of lighting animation on them all by simply doing that and adding more flashy stuff.

It may work well, it may not. Just a thought anywho.

UPDATE: Start Screen is made to go more along with my select screen. There are 2 versions one with a Team Color on each side and one without the team colors. Gimme your input on which one to use or just what can be improved/changed with the new screen. Working on VS and Win screens too.

hmm I'm a little torn on which version to go with. I like both though i'm leaing toward the uncolored one cuz it feels stronger. The colered version meshes better with the over all design and will help things feel more uniform though. I gotta clean u Sol's render though since he's got a white outline on him. Should have the Vs and Win screen concepts up by tonight

Looking forward to the concept. Personally, if you were going for the outline like you did on the Akuma one, i'd use the uncolored. If not, I'd go with the colored.

Thanks for the links to the render sites those should come in handy for the future. I got a general idea for my win screen down. I'm just trying to figure out how to expand on it. I was thining of maybe the boxes animate from little blue bars and expand to reveal the winner text and the win quote.

UPDATE: Got the VS screen up. The layout is inspired by GG Reloaded though it still fits the style of the SP. I know its got some empty spots but its all symmetrical so it works imo though I was considering adding like Bio sheets in the empty spots or stats maybe, something different to liven it up more though i think its pretty strong on its own. i intend for teh VS text to actually alternate from Red to Blue

UPDATE: Gonna be a slight delay on this baby. I'm working on reordering the portraits and creating more portraits for the SF3 Cast and the other Guilty Gear folks I don't have done yet. I gotta get things back in order for School too so i may fall off for a bit but I will see this to the end. Contemplating trying for lifebars I got some sketches but idk how to make them. Anyway just wanted to tell anyone that was looking forward to this that its still coming just may take a couple more weeks.

For the red and blue colors, instead of fading the color in the middle. Just place a border between them. Like Tekken 6 vs screen. study

Hey guys long time no see. I've missed this place and working on MUGEN as a whole. So Icame back to the only place I know treats me right lol. Rather than let this project die I'm gonna try to pick up from where I left off. Alright, Feedback Time.

First problem i noticed is the main menu pics. Personally I wouldnt go for them in that way HOWEVER if you choose to do so then try to have cleaner edges(they look bad no offense.) Now if rendering/fixing them up isnt in your skill set,then i recommend giving both Ryu and Sol a white outline so it wont look so bad(adding onto that,its easier to notice since you're making this for HD resolution).

Next, the BG. I would change it completely. It can actually stay in the select screen but change it in the main menu and options menu.
First off,its just boring to see the same pic over and over. Period.
Second, I have seen this one in particular WAY too many times
(its been in stages,I used it(somewhat,i still have it in my favs on dev art,etc etc)

As i Said,it can stay in the select,but i'd change the bg in the main menu. Now i know this isnt complete so i wont mention the default elecbyte font.

Adding back on to the Ryu and Sol pics,they have colorloss. You should try RGB method maybe on them to remove that loss unless you wanna jigsaw,your choice. It isnt a lot of loss,but its noticeable.

Select screen now:
I assume you left those bars at the top and bottom for a "select your fighter" scroll text or something to that effect,maybe instead of black have a blue-to-red and red-to-blue gradient for that(again RGB would work great here)

This isnt a huge deal since its only slightly noticeable,but your select hexagons are a little.....off.They look like they were rotated very slightly(I saw how some ports fit perfect and some got cut a pixel early,which to me was you trying to have them fit well.)

Overall I like the whole concept behind the select(and the BGM). Behind the select ports on the sides,you left the bg areas black,maybe give them a blue and red bg like the big ports,but more see through(trans = add) so they dont look like the separators.(this would also solve your text problem that i see.)

My white/jagged edges apply on the small ports in this case as well. Funny enough most of your big ports looks great,even edge wise.

I would comment on the lifebars,but i have no better suggestions.

Lastly,i havent bothered to check what is causing it but wtf here at the top(im venturing to guess its portraits?) I'll check later

@ Genesis: Thanks for all the constructive criticism. I'll give the title screen another go. As for the life bars I'm looking into building my own I just need to get the basics down. As for the rest of what ya said. Definitely taking it into account and should be able to post up fresh updates later this month when school dies down.
